Favorite Finds Along the Way

I, of course, hope to share as many socially conscious brands and options that I can find, but along the way, I stumble upon a few favorite pieces or check back in with companies I've already written about and find some goodies. Here are a couple such finds, since I just really, really want to share them!

Afia:

This romper, $150, is the shiz. As are these new-color, limited-run shorts for $80 (and the whole outfit is awesome, as well):

This Cri de Couer armlet with fringe, which is totally unique and a fun statement piece ... for $150. At least it's not a $36,000 backpack!

And the Blue-Sheep Tie-Dye Adiba shoes for da ladies by Oliberte, $135:

Also, been checking out this blog a bit: Africa on the Blog.

Yay for Friday! Hope to have some new goodies (and thoughts) for you all next week.

Cri de Coeur's Hearts of Darkness in White

What is that fashion rule again? No white past Labor Day? Well thank goodness we're not there yet (and that What Not to Wear promptly tossed that rule out anyway), because Cri de Coeur's Hearts of Darkness has some sweet white shoes.

Cloud Crochet Bootie - Eggshell, $110

Delicate Crochet Flat - Eggshell, $100

Braid Flat Rope Sandal - Eggshell, $105

Cri de Coeur claims Hearts of Darkness as its more accessible, affordable line for fashionistas, and I'm not complaining. Plus, these shoes were all made in ethical, sweat-free shops in China, and are vegan to boot (a key quality for the company).

Says the company's About page: "Cri de Coeur is a French expression that translates literally to 'cry from the heart.' To us, it symbolizes our heartfelt desire to change the face of the fashion footwear and accessory markets by providing stylish, contemporary products that are ethically produced from start to finish."

While still slightly above my price range, I'm trying to cut down on superfluous buys and remember that though certain things may cost more, they will also last longer and mean more. So this company is a good find.

PS These treats are from the Spring line; get ready for the new line soon, hopefully!
