(Daypack)
Topo Designs is a start-up based out of Colorado, which is what originally caught my eye -- not only is the company based there, but the bags are handmade in an LEED-certified building with a view of the Rockies.
The selling point was their sleek, convenient, retro style (yes, somehow they combine those three adjectives effortlessly) AND their affordable price; only $139 for the new klettersack, and $98 for their awesome day pack. They also have shoulder-strap mountain bags perfect for manly picnics and stuff.
And they also have a fun Tumblr account if you vibe on the Western-outdoors-experience meets art-and-design theme. Which I do, when I'm not looking at palm trees.
Only problem is that I can't find out how they source their materials -- but with an endorsement from Well Spent (my go-to men's blog crush whose inspiration is the "well-crafted" product), I'm crossing my fingers for good. Top and immediately prior images are from Well Spent's spotlight profile of Topo Designs, which includes an interview with the founders.
Father's Day gift, anyone?
