My Go-To Accessory: Falling Whistles

When I stumbled on Falling Whistles back in January, I was very interested. By the time my birthday rolled around in April, a Falling Whistles necklace was at the top of my list for the 'rents. And judging by the way it has blown up since, seems like other people feel the same way too.

All of the proceeds of these necklace sales go to rehabilitating children soldiers in the Congo and helping others there affected by the ongoing war (learn more). Meaning you get an incredible accessory, a reason to talk to people about what is going on, AND donated all of that money to a good cause.

When my whistle necklace arrived in the mail, it was accompanied by a print version of the journal that kicked off the whole thing in the first place, and can be read here. Incredible story.

Not only is it branded and designed well, but the people behind it are passionate and they're acting as movers and shakers in a larger realm than just the fashion industry or nonprofit circle. Love the out-of-the-box creativity.

Falling Whistles has even created a strategic brief for free and fair elections in the Congo (which is visually stimulating too). Check it out here -- smart people are behind this organization!

Oh, and did I mention that this necklace is less than $50, no matter which you choose (unless you want brushed gold, ok), and it goes with EVERYTHING. There's no reason to say no.

Happy Aloha Tuesday!
